Please visit the amazing inventory at the North Fork Parish Outreach, and buy with confidence knowing that your purchases directly benefit the least of our brothers and sisters. The NFPO Thrift Shop reinvests store profits back into our neediest neighbors, funding assistance to those in financial crisis.
The Thrift Shop is located opposite Mullen Motors, at 56025 Rte. 25 in Southold, and is open on Monday from 1 - 4 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 am - 4 pm, and Friday from 10 am - 3 pm. Great deals await, treasures abound, shelves are full. Come browse!
Unfortunately, the Thrift Shop cannot accept donations of any electronics (e.g. TVs or computers), large pieces of furniture, or appliances. Welcomed donations include clothing in very good condition (and in season), and gently used home items, which are accepted Tuesday – Thursday from 10 am – 2 pm.

Sister Margaret Smyth was welcomed home by God on December 19, 2022. She was 83 years old and devoted 65 years to religious life. For the last 25 years, Sister Margaret lovingly ministered to the Latino community on the east end of Long Island. As the founder of the North Fork Spanish Apostolate, Sister Margarita built a strong and dedicated community of volunteers that minister to all neighbors in need. Her legacy will live on through all she touched.
Each year as fall approaches the Saint Agnes Church in Greenport, NY transforms its parish hall into a Winter Homeless Shelter known in our community as "John’s Place".
We open our doors each Tuesday evening to 30-40 people who need a warm place to sleep with hot showers, meals, and clothing from November through April. We provide dinner, dessert, breakfast and a brown bag lunch to go. All guests are welcome with respect and kindness regardless of situation, origin, background or religion. Our volunteers are there to talk, listen, or simply be in the company of our guests so they don’t feel alone and remind them that God loves us all.
Our mission can not be successful without the continued support of our volunteers and benefactors. The cost to maintain the facility that houses our guests has become increasingly expensive over the recent years.
In 2020, a leaking roof had to be replaced for $25,000 and utilities to run the shelter exceeded $17,000. In 2021, we had to replace the floor and upgrade the electrical work as they were very outdated. To properly finish the renovations, we needed to paint the walls and ceilings. All renovations were necessary to provide shelter to those most in need during the harshest months of the year. Your continued donations have greatly supported our mission and we are most grateful. We pray for your continued support especially as we face continually rising energy and food costs.
Any donation to help support our mission would be a blessing. Our guests thank you and may God Bless You.
